Accommodation

Due to the Autumn Show at the nearby 3 Counties Showground on the same weekend as the wedding, it would be a very good idea to book accommodation as early as possible to avoid problems nearer the time.

Having been made aware that this will be a busy weekend, we are suggesting accommodation booking now rather than waiting for the proper invites (but we hope you received a ‘save the date’ card).

Options

The Malvern area has a number of hotels and B&Bs, as well as self-catering accommodation. The smaller town of Ledbury also has accommodation, and is only slightly further from Colwall than Malvern (4.6 miles compared to 3.6 miles).

If you might like to stay for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday), and see a bit of the Malvern area, then we can recommend the Cotford Hotel, which is in a good location.

If one of the nights is a Saturday, they will only accept 2 night stays. When we visited (17th Feb) they had 2 rooms taken, which should leave 10 doubles and a few singles, but they are likely to fill-up soon. Please use the comment section below to let us know if you have issues booking and we will change this page. Many of the rooms have space for children / babies if needed.

Prices per night including breakfast are £99 for a double room, £115 for a Superior double, and £65 for a single.

Comprehensive details of suppliers approved by the tourist office are at these links:

Not included on the lists is the Abbey Hotel which is the largest hotel in Malvern and centrally located, and the Malvern Spa Hotel, which is the far side of Malvern (allegedly they have financial trouble, but hopefully they will still be open in September).

The Abbey has double rooms with breakfast for the Saturday night at £73 if you book online and pre-pay (with no cancellation option) or £80 if booked online, £98 rack rate. When I spoke to them on the phone, they said that early check-in could be arranged.

Check-in

Given the 2pm start time of the wedding (yet to be confirmed), unless you decided to come up on the Friday night and sample more of the delights of Malvern, early check-in would be useful. If we find out that any of the places are amenable to early check-in, we will list them here, or do let us know using the comment section if you have any information.

Transport

If enough people are staying in Malvern we will think about putting on a bus at midnight to return guests to their hotels. Lifts to collect cars from the village hall car park could then easily be arranged for the Sunday morning.

If you wish to calculate the distance from the accommodation to the wedding, the postcode of the venue is WR13 6EQ.

  1. We’ve booked into the Abbey. That is Jax, Sue and Laurie although Jax is uncertain of her attendance but will know nearer the time.

    • Hello

Quite a few are staying there I think so we might lay on a bus to get everyone back.

We’ll send out invites in a while but don’t really need to know until about a fortnight before whether Jax can make it, although I hope she can!
